Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 the 21st of September 1983 in Worthington Ohio, USA is an American actress. She is best known for her roles as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills and Kim Mills on ABC's Lost television show. Originally from Worthington Ohio she dropped out of high school to move to Los Angeles with her mother after her parents divorce. The actress landed her first part, as Rachel's Room's main character in 2001 despite struggling with finances. She went on to earn a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002, for her role as fifteen-year-old victim Martha Moxley in the television film Murder which aired in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford was the character Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004 as well as sharing with her a Screen Actors Guild Award (with all the other actors) with her. Grace wanted to focus on film after playing opposite Tom Welling's character on The Fog, in 2005. The following year, she appeared on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and also, as Liam Neeson's Kim Mills as Kim Mills for Taken. She reprised the role in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the lead role Alice in Malice in Wonderland a modern version of Lewis Carroll's classic novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to Shannon's character in Lost for two episodes. This included the series final. In 2013, Grace appears in Californianation, the 6th Season. The character she plays is Faith who's the star-gazer and a groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She is part of Gyllenhaal's family, and is the older sibling of Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager, she began to work on small roles with her father and appeared in Donnie Darko with her sister. She then appeared in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal has received critical praise for her leading roles in Secretary (2002, erotic romantic drama) as well as Sherrybaby (606) Both that earned her Golden Globe Award nods. In 2006, she appeared in numerous commercially successful films, such as World Trade Center. However it was her performance in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her wider attention in The Dark Knight (2008). In the wake of her performance that was a hit as a mother who is not married in Crazy Heart (2009), she earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Then, she went on to appear in comedy films and dramas like Nanny McPhee And The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) as well as The Won't Back Down (12). Other roles she has played includes Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 an action thriller) as well as actors in Frank (2014 and drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018), and The kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal started her career as screenwriter, director and writer in the year 2021 when she wrote and directed her psychological horror film The Lost Daughter. The film was awarded Best Screenplay at the Venice International Film Festival, and was later nominated by the Academy Award.
